I am a part of a greater whole. I change with the seasons, and the seasons change with me.
I come to life in a bright shade of green in the coming of spring. I signal the beginning of a new life, along with my brethren who reside along the branches with me. I take in the light of the sun to share my energies with my mother tree. My purpose is to give life. That is the only thing I am good for.
My colors fade in the autumn calm. As winter approaches, I am cast away from my mother tree to become one with the earth. With my dying breath, I am absorbed and I become a source of sustenance. My lif
